THE CHOSEN - Season 6, Episode 1 (Pre-release community event)

We are thrilled to announce we are able to share the pre-release of season 6, episode 1 of The Chosen! You are welcome to invite friends, neighbors, and family to Lakeshore Lutheran Fellowship on Sunday, November 8th at 3 PM to watch together, before it is released to the public. Sunday, October 25th, Pastor Chris will share his message: 

Each one of us longs for affirmation, for acceptance, and for approval. We search for these in relationships, in how well we do our job or succeed in life, in how religious or charitable we are, and even on social media. Underneath all of this striving is our spiritual need to be right with God. But what if being right with God is not something we have to achieve? 

Join us on this Reformation Sunday for our message, “Nothing to Prove. Nothing to Earn. It’s All a Gift!” based on Romans 3:19-28. The other Scripture readings are from Revelation 14:6-7 and John 8:31-36.

Sunday, November 1, Pastor's message will be: 

All Saints’ Day reminds us that grief and hope often live side by side. We remember those who have died in Christ, we feel the ache of their absence, and yet we hold fast to a promise greater than death itself. Because we belong to Christ, death does not have the final word.

Join us this All Saints’ Sunday for the message, “See What the Father’s Love Has Made Us,” as we hear the beautiful promise of 1 John 3:1–3. The other Scripture readings are from Revelation 7:2-17 and Matthew 5:1-12.

Kidz Connection

Kidz Connection meets Sundays for PK-5^th grade following praise songs. Kids should attend worship until the songs are done, then Pastor will release them to join in the ARK for Kidz Connection. (Activity bags are available for kids that want to stay in worship with their families.)

Children's Christmas Service - Sunday, December 20 at 10 AM

Notes from Shannon...Practice and handing out of parts for the Christmas program will be the first Sunday of November. Parents should have their children in Sunday School all Sundays leading up to Christmas, as that is when we will be practicing. Christmas Program will be during service the morning of December 20^th with MANDATORY dress rehearsal on Saturday, the 19^th .  Any questions, see Shannon Johnson or text her at 231-286-1517.

Nursery

Our Nursery is staffed on Sunday mornings. The room is also open for parents to change diapers or to have a place to nurse while still being able to listen to the sermon via the in-room speaker system. Governance Ministry Board meetings

Did you know that our Governance Ministry Board meetings happen monthly on the 2nd Tuesday at 6:30 pm. Anyone is welcome to attend a meeting, but you first need to alert the Chairperson, one week prior to the meeting, letting them know what your concerns might be and how much time you may require at the meeting. First Priority Annual Banquet

First Priority of the Lakeshore will be hosting their annual banquet on Monday, November 9th from 6-8 pm at Watermark Church in Grand Haven. You must register ASAP. LUTHERAN YOUNG ADULT GATHERING 2027

Community Groups

Joining a Community Group at Lakeshore Lutheran Fellowship is an amazing way to connect with our church family and its community! Many of these groups meet in homes either weekly/bi-monthly/monthly to connect with other Christians, offering a way to meet others, pray for each other and spend time in God’s word together. Women's Christmas Tea - DECEMBER 6th

Mark your calendars...Women's Christmas Tea will be on Sunday, December 6th, 3-5 pm. Come enjoy treats and time of wonderful fellowship with us! Sign up at the Information Center soon. This event is free.  Any questions, please see Brenda Kling.

Women's Christmas Luncheon - December 16th

Women's Annual Christmas Party/Lunch to be held at TED's in Spring Lake at 12:00 noon on Wednesday, December 16th. Even if you have never attended a women's event, try this one. We have so much fun! There will be a sign up coming soon. Plan to bring a $15 gift for a "gift exchange game". Also, just so you know...you will order & pay for your own lunch. Hope to see you there!

Men's Huddle - Weekly on Thursdays

Every Thursday morning from 8:30-9:30 am, a great group of guys meet for a time of coffee, fellowship, prayer and projects. They make sure the baptismal font is filled, the candles are set for Sunday, chairs/tables are managed as needed and various other small tasks. Once completed, they meet for a time of fellowship and prayer. This group is open for any man that would like to join. Any questions, please connect with Randy Deater at 616-402-5248.

Men's Prayer Breakfast and Bible Study - Monthly

Meets every second Saturday of the month in the Atrium. Come anytime between 7–7:30 am for breakfast and then 7:30-8:30 am is the study & prayer time. All men are welcome to join Saturday, November 14th! Any questions, please call Randy Deater at 616-402-5248.

Household Necessity Pantry

The Household Necessities Pantry (HNP) giveaway remaining in 2026 will be on Saturday, December 12th.
The HNP giveaways help our local community that is in need of personal care items. For those currently taking a "required minimum distribution" (RMD), there are added tax benefits.  Starting in 2026, you may make a "qualified charitable distribution" (QCD) of up to $111,000.00 from your IRA and pay ZERO TAX, provided gifts are a direct transfer to Lakeshore Lutheran from your financial institution. These distributions also qualify as part or all of your RMD requirement. They may even lower your modified adjusted gross income (MAGI), which can help avoid higher Medicare Part B premiums and other income-based limits. Our office is collecting your empty ink cartridges and recycling them for savings at a local store. Please help us defray the cost office supplies. Bring in your empty cartridges and give them to the person behind the Information Center. (There will be a container under the counter for them to place them in.) Here's the Scoop...Buying Scrip helps us earn free money! 
Scrip allows us to order cards from thousands of merchants locally and nationally! You pay nothing extra for the cards, but a small profit from the sale of each card stays at Lakeshore.
Scrip will be available on Sundays following service (in the Atrium) and in the church office on Mondays thru Thursdays from 9 am-2 pm.

OFFICE ADMINISTRATOR POSITION OPENING
Christ Our Savior – Holland is seeking candidates to replace our current office administrator who is
retiring. This is a paid position, currently working 15 hours per week, plus additional hours as needs
arise. The current church office hours are Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, 9:30 AM - 2:30 PM.
The position requires strong computer skills to prepare the worship bulletins, weekly announcements,
monthly newsletters, record membership details, and look up information. Other duties include: taking
phone calls in a courteous manner; managing the church calendar; assist with volunteer scheduling;
preparing and mailing correspondence on behalf of the church; maintaining confidentiality on personal
matters.
