RENEW Campaign update

RENEW

Accomplishments to date:  Since Feb. of 2018, $156,000 has been raised. This means that approximately 94% of active commitments have been fulfilled. These monies have enabled Lakeshore to pay cash for the first two capital projects: the ARK roof and new technology in the Worship Center. Additionally, approximately 2/3 of the estimated $150,000 needed to replace the parking lot has been raised.

Original timetable:  The RENEW giving campaign began in Feb. 2018 and continued through March 2021.  Lakeshore’s  Facility Team is confident that the parking lot will be safe & serviceable for another 24 months which gives us additional time and opportunity to contribute to RENEW. We would like to avoid borrowing funds to complete this project.

Additional funds: There have been many Lakeshore Fundraisers which have contributed to RENEW. These include: Connect lunches, Driver’s Ed, Golf Outing, Banking Interest, Projector Sales, Scrip, Thrivent & the Yard Sale. Thank you for your support of these projects.

The Ask:  To ‘Renew’ or continue your commitment so that Lakeshore can offer worshipers a new, safe and inviting parking lot.

  • Please prayerfully consider how you can participate in this final stretch of the campaign
  • Review information and make any inquiries
  • Complete a new commitment card (found at the Information Center or can be mailed to you) and return to the church office by May 16, 2021.
THANK YOU ALL!

Sunday Sermon - May 16th

Jesus has ascended to the Father's right hand. This means Jesus is in charge, even though it doesn't look like it right now.  When we see all the turmoil in our country and in people's lives, and we see the growing conflict among the nations, we can wonder whether Jesus is really on the throne. But the Holy Spirit opens the eyes of our faith to see the spiritual reality of how Jesus reigns among us and through us as His body in the world.

Join us this Sunday as we celebrate the Ascension of Our Lord with the message, "Jesus Reigns as Lord of All," based on Ephesians 1:15-23. The other Scripture readings are from Acts 1:1-11 and Luke 24:44-53.

Altar Guild - Volunteers needed

We are looking for a few individuals to help us by serving on the Altar Guild in 2021. The duties include setting-up for communion, then stay after the service to clean-up. It does not mean that you must be a part of the distribution of communion, but rather, just taking care of set-up and clean-up. This could be a great opportunity for a community group or a family to serve together one month out of the year. If you have any questions, see Bev Scheil or Jayne Platz (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.).

Men's Huddle

Every Thursday morning at 8:30 am, a great group of guys meet for a time of coffee, fellowship, prayer and projects. These are the gentlemen that make sure the baptismal font is filled, the candles are set for Sunday, chairs/tables are managed as needed, and various other small tasks. Once they complete a few tasks, they meet for a time of fellowship, devotion and prayer. This group is open for any man that would like to join. The group is done generally by 9:30 am. Any questions, please connect with Randy Deater at 616-402-5248.
