Sunday Sermon - February 28th
Jesus summons us to follow Him each day - to live in His presence, listening to Him and becoming like Him. But this won't be easy. In fact, following Jesus will likely become increasingly difficult in this changing culture that not only wants to distract us, but also wants to cancel us from obeying Him. Yet, Jesus has given His life for us to enjoy in exchange for our old life. Join us on this Second Sunday in Lent for our message, "The Cost of Following Jesus," based on Mark 8:27-38. The other Scripture readings are Genesis 17:1-7, 15-16 and Romans 5:1-11.

Lakeshore's Weekly Prayer Theme
Prayer of the Week (2nd Sunday in Lent)
O God, You see that of ourselves we have no strength. By Your mighty power defend us from all adversities that may happen to the body and from all evil thoughts that may assault and hurt the soul; through Jesus Christ, Your Son, our Lord, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.

As many may know, we had plans for a new directory to be created last fall. However, with Covid-19, it was cancelled. As a way to keep us connected, we are utilizing our internal data base to create paper copies of our directory. We would like to print copies for everyone again very soon. But before that, we want to offer you the opportunity to submit a (family) photo or update your (family) photo. Please email the church office with any photos to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. by Thursday, March 11th. Every Thursday morning at 8:30 am, a great group of guys meet for a time of coffee, fellowship, prayer and projects. These are the gentlemen that make sure the baptismal font is filled, the candles are set for Sunday, chairs/tables are managed as needed, and various other small tasks. Once they complete a few tasks, they meet for a time of fellowship, devotion and prayer. This group is open for any man that would like to join. The group is done generally by 9:30 am. Sanctity of Human Life - CRIB Ministry
As you may know, Lakeshore Lutheran Fellowship has added a volunteer coordinator for the Sanctity of Human Life. Gloria Jasperse has prepared resources and opportunities for us all to consider.
Crib Ministry
Drivers wanted! We are anticipating partnering with Lakeshore Pregnancy Centers: Positive Options in providing new or recently refurbished cribs to babies in need of them.
The Crib Ministry will consist of two parts:
1) Transportation (This would require driving to Holland to pick up 2 or 3 fully assembled cribs and transporting them here to Lakeshore for storage. There would probably be one Holland trip every 3 or 4 months, on an as-needed basis.)
2) Storage (We have space in our building to store the cribs.)
Families found to be in need of a crib would then be invited to visit Lakeshore Fellowship to pick up a crib. This allows us the opportunity to welcome them to Lakeshore for worship and possibly reach out to them for other needs, such as our pantry items.
Note that the cribs are expected to be in good shape when we receive them, so they shouldn't need any "fixing." We might want to outfit them with some bedding, however. (details and specs to come)If you are interested, please contact Gloria: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
